Hi, my name is Cyrus Wraith Walker. Welcome to my site.
Ever since I was 14 years of age, I have been writing fiction. I delight in the macabre. I primarily write psychological and supernatural horror. My favorite is the former, however, I have been recently labeled a Paranormal Fiction Writer.
Psychological conditions provide a large pallet from which to draw the most curious phenomena. Many of these conditions cause very bizarre behaviors and perspectives in people. It seems that I will never run out of ideas.
My favorite all time novel is Stephen King's The Shining. The book itself started me on this venture. However, I didn't become serious about writing until about seven years ago, when I wrote my first serious short story and started the long journey of discovery into how successful writers write, and how they get published.
As you can imagine like all Writer's I have collected my share of rejection notices. Unlike the typical form rejections—yes I did receive a few of those—my first rejection came in the form of a two-page letter sent from Darrell Schweitzer at Weird Tales that was very encouraging. Since then I have received several similar Letters, encouragements, and finally contracts.
I want to spread that encouragement on to others. Keep writing, keep submitting. Whatever you don't do well, you will. Work hard and never give up, or ... The bowels of Hell will gobble up your soul and regurgitate your entrails as a writer. As a reader, you get to sit back and enjoy the show. Readers are the best, but then I am biased.
